During May, which is awareness month, we have been speaking to consultant urologists about the need for accessible and non-invasive testing solutions. Here's what Chris Blick has to say about our GALEAS™ Bladder cancer testing service and the potential benefits it offers to healthcare providers and patients. We’re been nominated for a ‘Delivering Innovation into Health and Care’ award by Medilink Midlands, thanks to our collaborations with the NHS including our role as the only private lab supporting the NHS Jewish BRCA Testing Programme. These awards are designed to recognise and celebrate the best of innovation, collaboration and connectivity in the healthcare sector. We're looking forward to the awards ceremony on 9th May.

A recent article in The Telegraph hailed GALEAS™ Bladder as a breakthrough in diagnostics, that could make it easier to detect bladder cancer early. Developed by our sister company Nonacus, the GALEAS™ test forms part of our complete bladder cancer DNA testing service to help clinicians detect the disease at every step. Our new GALEAS™ Bladder test detects bladder cancer by picking up genetic markers in urine samples, which patients can provide from the comfort of their own home.

Of all patients currently referred for cystoscopy, only 10 per cent are diagnosed with bladder cancer. The GALEAS™ Bladder test could move the 90 percent of patients without cancer to a non-urgent pathway, freeing up resource for patients to undergo cystoscopies faster to confirm their cancer diagnoses.

From our recent launch, Chris Blick commented on our collaboration with BUPA, which makes the test available in the UK for the first time.

“It is incredibly exciting to see the successful transition from bench to bedside of a novel, non-invasive biomarker with high diagnostic accuracy. This test has the potential to alter the way patients are investigated and managed during their bladder cancer journey.”

Mr Chris Blick, Consultant Urologist at the Royal Berkshire Hospital

Patients are our priority, and we strive to provide the right testing that has a meaningful impact on their experience and outcomes. We were delighted to see the support from the patient community when we announced our collaboration with Bupa to make our GALEAS™ Bladder genetic test available in the UK for the first time. Lydia Makaroff from Fight Bladder Cancer commented on the news.

“A non-invasive test, used alongside cystoscopies, is something patients have been asking for; having one accurate enough to reduce the number of cystoscopies would represent a significant improvement for patients.”

Dr Lydia E Makaroff, Chief Executive at Fight Bladder Cancer

Our Informed Genomics team is at the BAUS (The British Association of Urology Surgeons) Section of Oncology Meeting today and tomorrow in Manchester. Find us in the Barbirolli room inside the Bridgewater Hall.

After the exciting launch of our pioneering GALEAS™ Bladder testing service last week, and Bupa’s announcement to reimburse GALEAS™ Bladder, we will be discussing with Consultant Urologists the implementation of this service into clinical practice.

Last evening, we held an interactive speaker event at the King Street Townhouse where Rik Bryan, Andrew Feber, and Chidi Molokwu presented compelling information on the panel design, the clinical development program for the GALEAS Bladder service, along with how molecular biomarker tests such as this could be adopted routinely into clinical practice.

The feedback has been very positive with great discussions between our attendees and speakers as to the adoption of the test for patients with haematuria.

🎗️ October is ! 🎗️

According to Cancer Research UK, over 55,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year, making it the most common cancer among women.

Today is Wear it Pink day to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer, so our staff, in the office and online, are wearing it pink!👚

Informed Genomics provides a breast cancer hereditary gene panel to the NHS, and private sector clinicians to identify individuals with a genetic pre-disposition to breast cancer. These panels may also be covered by your private medical insurance. We are driven to provide accessible genomic testing, to enable an earlier diagnosis and more personalised treatment pathway.

If you would like to learn more about this test follow this link: https://bit.ly/408gD03 or speak to your clinician about our service.

Breast cancer affects millions of lives, and early detection can make all the difference.
Share this post to raise awareness, and encourage your loved ones to schedule their screenings.

Together, we can make a real impact!
