Yes, we work on a layout too!

One of our goals for the weekend was to get this last bit of the layout base trimmed and ready for sanding. It took a little bit of creativity to make the joint disappear, but we're happy with how it is progressing.

Behind the scenes, our resin 3d printers were working on something new and exciting for our N-Scale Sugar Cube Speaker customers!

For Halloween this year, we had a crazy idea for a costume at the last minute. We ordered filament overnight but everybody's favorite A to Z company did not deliver at all over the weekend.

In a slight panic, we placed an order with and sent an email to their customer service first thing Monday morning. 16 (yes, seriously!) minutes later I got a response that my order was already packed up and on the way!
Absolutely fantastic customer service from the team at Printed Solid.

When designing the minifig head, we knew there was only one way put it together and still be ready for Halloween. was the way, and is the best adhesive for 3d printed projects.
Thanks for helping make this project possible!

That was fun! Now back to work!

What was that 3d printing about in our last post?

We're building a set of helixes!

2 or 3 helixes are being set up in the adjacent room.
The point to point mainline run on the upper level will have a helix to finally connect the extended loop.
Between the upper and lower level will be a 24" tall helix.

It's been a long time coming, but we're excited to make this happen!

We hope you had a better weekend running trains than this poor Kato Locomotive.
Customer said it ran well for a few hours until it got hung up on an out of spec turnout. Unfortunately, there was an electrical issue that kept the track power live instead of cutting it.
Here's your reminder to check your track to be sure your circuit breakers work! The quarter trick is still a great method for validating the short circuit safeties!
