This update fixes several minor errors and improves clarity. Updated steps: 53, 117, 153, 300, 330, 334, 512, 550, 573, 624, 691.

Files on Rebrickable are already updated.

New update to the instructions for the LTM 1750. Step 555 has been corrected as shown below. One yellow 1x2 plate and one 1x2 plate with bar have been added to the parts list.

The instructions on Rebrickable and szmandracranes.e-junkie.com have been updated.

The LTM 1750, a model I first built in 2015, has received many requests for building instructions over the years. The instructions are finally ready, even though the new model has little in common with the old one and some compromises had to be made.

Mainly due to the current motors and control system. Control+/Powered Up lacks basic essentials such as cable extensions and rechargeable batteries. The hubs are either huge with four ports or smaller with two, each requiring separate AA/AAA batteries. Older systems like Power Functions and SBricks are now dead and hard to obtain, so building remote-controlled models today is more difficult than it was. I hope LEGO will come to its senses and give us better solutions in the near future.

For controlling the model I initially planned to use SBrick, Power Functions, later BuWizz, but in the end I decided on three Powered Up hubs with six remote functions. The main drawback compared to the old 2015 model is the lack of remote boom lifting. I thought about this for a long time, but ultimately chose a manually added piston rod. It’s not something I’m particularly proud of, yet in practice it works well and looks good, so I hope you’ll like it.

The four‑section boom remains (although it is built completely differently than the old one), and crab steering has been added - something I really enjoyed on the LTM 1250.
