The Canadian Music Archives is based in Vancouver BC,
Currently in a Secure Storage Facility until a proper building is established. It is home to 20,000+ Master Tapes of bands from 1957-present, Photos, Negatives, 10,000 45's and Acetates and other LP Records from Canada's music past. Currently Home to the personal Tape Libraries of famous Canadians: TERRY JACKS, SUSAN JACKS, THE POPPY FAMILY, CH
AD ALLAN, and THE STAMPEDERS. SHARI ULRICH, DAVID SINCLAIR, BOB BUCKLEY, etc
Also Tape Libraries from: Eagle Records (Winnipeg), Bob Buckley (Spring, Straight Lines, Body Electric, etc), David Sinclair (Sunshyne, Razzle, Straight Lines, Body Electric), Robin Spurgin (Vancouver Recording engineer in the 60s), Bob Hahn (Polydor Records). MEDIA RELATIONS: Interview reels from CKLG's RICK HONEY (R.I.P) and Interviews from Columnist and Media Personality ELLIE O'DAY, Negatives and Photos of Loretta Lynn and Canadian garage bands, Acetates and records from the DON GRASHEY Collection. ALL of the 'Eagle Records' master tapes from Winnipeg in the 60s (Wes Newosad R.I.P.) Masters from other labels that have been generously provided include SuperOldies (Bob Hahn, Eagle Records, JB & The Playboys, Stampeders)(Thank you Shawn Nagy). The Archive is in the process of becoming non profit and will soon find a new home for the tens of thousands of items on hand. It is founded and operated by Jamie Anstey, in Vancouver, and one day will be properly stored and warehoused in it's own facility, with a proper future board of members (which currently include friends and media relations)
