NFCA joined the rest of the world in commemorating May Day under the theme: “Securing Zambia’s Future of Work – Protecting Jobs, Skills, and Pensions for Decent Work for All.”

The celebrations were held in Kalulushi, bringing together employees and management in recognition of the value of labour and the importance of collective progress.

As part of the event, NFCA management honoured several employees for their outstanding commitment and contribution to the company. Awards were presented across various categories, including Most Hardworking, Most Dedicated, Most Improved, and Most Safety Conscious, among others.

In his address, the ZFE representative noted that the emergence of artificial intelligence is transforming the world of work. He emphasized the need for inclusive growth driven by a thriving private sector and highlighted the importance of aligning pension schemes with evolving labour market dynamics to ensure long-term security for workers.

During the same event, the Guest of Honour, Kalulushi District Commissioner Mr. Mubita Ikashakala, stated that the government has made significant strides in safeguarding workers’ rights. He noted that new pension reforms have been introduced to enhance financial inclusivity and security. He further emphasized that employers are key partners in the digital transformation agenda and reaffirmed government’s commitment to promoting social dialogue between employers and employees to maintain industrial harmony.
