What PM Advisor on Climate Change said about electric vehicles:
EV reduces carbon emissions by 65%
Use of EV reduces pressure on a consumer pocket as there's oil is expensive. EV reduces expense by over 60%. It will help reduce inflationary effects on the common persons.
There is surplus electricity present in the country. Government is already paying 60% to independent power producers in the form of capacity payments without using surplus electricity.
Fourth opportunity we have is that our biggest import bill is of oil, which will reduce by $2 billion with the use of electric vehicles, according to an estimate. It will help government retain its important foreign exchange reserves.
