Myth: Cranking your AC cools your home faster.

Fact: Turning the temperature down and cranking your AC unit to a cooler setting will only make the unit work harder. This wastes energy and drives up your electric bill.

Spider webs are fun in movies—but anything tangled near power lines in real life can be dangerous. Whether it’s drones, kites, tree branches, or decorations, always keep them far away from electrical equipment and overhead lines.

What is Operation Round Up?

Operation Round Up is a voluntary program and is just what the name implies. Each month, MWEC simply "rounds up" your electric bill to the nearest dollar. That difference is then awarded to qualified community-based, non-profit organizations by a Board of Directors in accordance with the program's bylaws.

Join us in helping local students start the school year with the supplies they need!

Now through August 3, we're collecting new school supplies at our Williston and Stanley office locations.
