SUPPLIER SHOUT OUT!

The work we do wouldn't happen without the fantastic suppliers we use.

It’s important that our technical access, industrial, and asset maintenance services are delivered using kit that meets the requirements of the sites we work on and conforms to the relevant UK standards for the type of work we do… especially our workwear!

We wanted to shout out Granite Workwear for the fantastic ARC/FR uniforms they supply us with and REAX for our safety helmets (modelled here by our team at the ENGIE UK Dinorwig hydro-electric power station site in North Wales!)

From us at RACS Industrial, thank you, Granite Workwear, and REAX, for your ongoing responsive services and technical guidance!

Something we pride ourselves on at RACS Industrial is the way we communicate with our clients throughout all stages of their projects. From inception through to completion.

- We are transparent in our technical approaches and provide regular updates if anything changes in our methodology or the work environment.

- We are responsive with costs, keeping you informed as the project progresses.

- We want our clients to feel like they are our priority at all times, where we can share professional guidance about the scope of a job, and how to minimise costs and risk where possible.

Referencing our internal Hazard Identification and Risk Management Procedure, we assess whether our services are suitable for a scope of work and aim to effectively resolve any challenges during the scope. You can be sure we are all in when we work together!

Respect, collaboration, and integrity matter to us, and this shows in the successful completion of the work we do.

If this sounds like a good fit for you and your project, reach out for more information.

On a power station overhaul project for First Hydro Company, part of ENGIE , we received a review that really encapsulates who we are. We take safety and quality seriously, and we really do enjoy what we do at the same time.

In our client's words:

"RACS Industrial delivered a complex and high risk cable installation for us at First Hydro Company. Matt and his team were a pleasure to work with, with a professional approach to planning and executing the installation.

The work was carried out in good time, to the highest standard and quality, with no safety concerns. The RACS team also seemed to enjoy the work despite the wintry conditions! Diolch yn fawr Matt & co".

Challenging projects and great clients, combined with our reliable team, motivate us to deliver more projects, no matter the weather!

As a growing business, client testimonials and referrals mean a lot, so a big thank you to our clients for taking the time to talk about the work we do for you.

It doesn’t get much better than an independent, non-governmental organisation that brings global experts together to decide the best ways for organisations to operate.

This is what the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) was founded to do, and has continued to do ever since 1947.

These standards apply to all sorts of industries and organisations, from product creation to process management.

The purpose of the ISO is to make processes and systems safer, easier, and better - values which are directly aligned with ours here at RACS Industrial.

For this reason, we committed to maintaining our ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications.

ISO 9001:

The ISO 9001 standard is all about quality management, and more specifically, Quality Management Systems within an organisation (QMS).

It covers:
- Customer Expectations: at RACS, we want our customers to feel valued, that we are transparent with them, and that they are a priority.
- Commitment to Quality: at RACS, we ensure our safety methods are always the highest standard, sites are well maintained by our team, we use the right tools, equipment, and systems to ensure the excellent quality of service specified in ISO 9001.
- QMS: in the words of the ISO, we must 'establish, implement, maintain and continually improve a quality management system'.

Implementing ISO 9001 also means that our staff members are all trained to deliver effective processes each time they work on a project, so all RACS team members are completely aligned and committed to the ISO, too.

Follow along to hear more about the ISO certificates and the values we bring to each project we work on.

V-Deck™ is a 21st-century solution to a centuries-old problem. That is why we are trained installers of V-Deck™.

V-Deck is a fully modular, suspended work platform designed as an alternative to traditional suspended scaffolding in difficult environments, such as under-deck marine structures and bridges.

Since its inception, RACS Industrial has been promoting the use of V-Deck to the industrial sites we serve, and we look forward to using it on future projects too, because the benefits support our mission of 'We Sell Safety'.

• Speed: It delivers over 80% time savings on installation compared to conventional scaffolding.
• Reduced Risk: It is 93% lighter and has 75% less volume, significantly reducing manual handling and logistical strain on site.
• Strength: Despite being lightweight, it is fully engineered to take high loads (up to 5kN UDL).

We recently decided to invest further in training and sent 6 of our team members to Edinburgh to become trained in V-Deck™ installation and inspection, so we can expand on the projects we implement this solution in, building on safety, efficiency, and forward-thinking site solutions.

If you think this would be a great addition to your project, or you want to know more about our V-Deck™ services, give us a call.

Any ideas about what we check off the list before we even set foot on the project site?

1. Job Hazard Analysis:
We identify any hazards specific to the site and scope of work, and the appropriate measures to put in place so that we can complete the work safely and in line with the project requirements.

Our JHA enables us to prepare task-specific RAMS, rescue plans, and lifting &
rigging plans, if required.

2. Kit Inspection & LOLER
LOLER (or Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998, for those who don't know!) requires inspection before using equipment to confirm the lifting equipment is undamaged, in date, and safe for the task. We do this, and further inspections of the rest of our kit, to make sure all equipment is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose on site.

3. Team Onboarding
We ensure our technicians have been through the specific onboarding procedure for the company and project, they have the opportunity to raise any questions, and make sure we are all ready to begin the project.

4. Papertrail (Asset Management Software)
We generate equipment manifests using Papertrail to inform us which pieces of equipment are currently on site, what we have in stock to dispatch, and make use of the added function, which tells us the specific sites our equipment has been on. This is useful for documenting a history of potential contamination, as we have full traceability of the environment the equipment has been exposed to.

Careful preparation, taking care of the details, and keeping you informed along the way - this is how we complete your projects to the highest standards.

Safety starts before we even arrive.

While our physical work can take place at height or in confined spaces, the foundations of our culture of safety and high standards start before we arrive on site.

At RACS Industrial, we use an asset management and inspection software called Papertrail which maintains meticulous digital administrative records of the equipment we use and where it has been used on past projects. It ensures all safety checks are carried out:

• Efficiently and on time.
• To our high standards by well-trained and competent inspectors.
• In line with our culture and safety accreditations.

Why is a digital paper trail so useful in our industry?

It provides a complete history of every piece of kit we own and use. We know exactly where our ropes have been, the environment our harnesses are exposed to, and the full inspection history of everything in circulation.

By tracing our equipment to such a precise level, we can identify potential contamination or defects, and we can be confident that the equipment we use is fit for purpose on a project.

From generating instant LOLER and PUWER reports of thorough examination, to ensuring the correct kit is allocated for specific site hazards, our use of Papertrail makes sure we are fully compliant.

For our clients across the diverse sectors we work in, this offers technical assurance and peace of mind whilst working with us on complex projects.

Share this with someone who might find Papertrail or similar software useful in their industry. 👉

We set our standards high, even 260m underground.

Three years ago, RACS Industrial took on its very first project for our client MLR Networks Ltd . We jumped straight into the deep end, abseiling 260m down a ventilation shaft at Dinorwig power station in North Wales.

From the very beginning, we committed to operating at the highest standards possible. We continue to build on these, every day, three years later, and each project teaches us something new.

The Project:
• Dinorwig Power Station in North Wales.
• Power Station Overhaul - Data Communication.

The Outcome:
• The project was executed safely and efficiently, and we communicated openly and frequently with the client and other contractors.

Whether we are working in marine, energy, or civil infrastructure, our clients can all expect the same dedication and assurance that they are our number one priority, maintaining their assets and ensuring the safety of our team.

On each project, we build on our portfolio of proven work and consistently reliable results.

We’re proud of our IRATA operator member status here at RACS Industrial.

If you work in industrial maintenance or construction, you have likely come across IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association). It is the global authority on industrial rope access and is an invaluable stamp of approval to demonstrate competency for working on high-risk sites.

Being an IRATA member is a concrete way for us to show our commitment to following a strict International Code of Practice (ICoP), which is part of the unrivalled safety record of the IRATA methodology.

It also shows our commitment to undergoing rigorous independent audits to verify our technical competence and quality assurance.

It means that our rope access methods enable efficiency on-site.

Our dedication to the IRATA ICoP guidelines is one of the ways we show up for our clients on each project, upholding our own high standards, whilst also being recognised by external auditors and the IRATA body.

If you have questions about IRATA or a technical question about the use of rope access services on your projects, we'd love to take your call.
