Last week, we were called out to help a customer who had unfortunately been let down by previous tradespeople.

She had her roof replaced last year, but unfortunately they desided to used her loft space as their own personal skip.

As the customer rarely uses her loft, the issue went unnoticed until a plumber recently went up to carry out some maintenance work on her water tank.

she contacted the original company to try and get the problem resolved, only to discover that they were no longer trading.

✅ We completely stripped the loft back to a clean, bare space
✅ Removed all rubbish and contaminated insulation
✅ Installed fresh, new insulation throughout
✅ Ensured all waste was removed and disposed of responsibly by our professional waste carrier

It's disappointing to see customers left to deal with problems like this, especially after paying for work to be carried out on their homes.

💥WOW, WHAT A TRANSFORMATION! 💥

A fantastic 3 days we've had over in Birmingham, turning a dark, dusty, cobweb-filled loft into a bright, functional storage space!

The customer originally only had access to the small side loft, but what they didn't realise was just how massive the unused main loft area was behind it, with no access to it!

✅ Smaller loft fully boarded and insulated, with a 6ft LED strip light and double plug socket.

✅ Main loft fully boarded and insulated throughout, with 2 x 6ft LED strip lights and 2 double plug sockets.

✅ Installed a 70 x 80cm wooden and metal loft ladder, finished with a smart pine architrave.

📐 Over 55m² of loft boarding went into this project!

Is been a tough few days — heavy lifting, plenty of dust and some seriously hard graft — but the team dug in, worked hard and got the job over the line.

Another loft transformation completed today over in redditch.

This new-build home had plenty of unused loft space, but with two young children, good storage is always valuable — especially when new-build homes often lack it.

The family had been storing belongings directly on top of the insulation, which isn’t suitable for heavier items. We’ve now created a proper raised storage area, allowing them to make use of the space while keeping the insulation at the correct depth.

We also added:

✅ Raised storage flooring
✅ Wooden loft ladder & new hatch
✅ 6ft LED strip light
✅ Insulation maintained at the correct depth
✅ Plenty of additional storage space
✅ A much safer, cleaner and more practical loft

When I started first started Zing Lofts, one of the biggest things I wanted to get right was putting the customer first.

Out with the new builds and in with the old! 👌

I particularly like the older-style purlin roof houses — they offer a great open space and much more headroom compared to some of the new builds where it seems to be A-frames everywhere!

This customer from Oldbury got in touch to see if there was anything we could do to help create some much-needed storage, especially with a new arrival due in December 👶

We boarded out the loft and extended the existing hatch to accommodate a new 70 x 80cm wooden/metal loft ladder and hatch, making access much easier and creating a really useful amount of additional storage space.

💡 Loft lighting tip: If you already have a pendant light fitted in your loft, these 4,000-lumen bayonet-fit loft lights are a great addition. They give really good all-round light and, at around £15, they are good value too!

Another loft transformed and, more importantly, a bit more storage ready for the new arrival! 👶📦🔨

Not 1, not 2, but THREE new builds all in one week! We’re definitely being spoilt 😅🙌

This customer had tried their hand at DIY loft boarding, but unfortunately the flooring wasn’t raised high enough, so we ripped it out and started again — re-boarding the central section at the correct height and in line with NHBC guidance. 👌

But it wasn’t all lost! ♻️

Rather than letting the materials go to waste, we bought the shorter loft legs back from the customer and reused the existing OSB boards. The OSB created truss shelving, giving the customer some valuable extra storage space.

We also fitted a wooden loft hatch and ladder, making access into the loft much easier.

The customer is an electrician by trade, so no lighting was added this time — he’ll be sorting that himself at a later date! 💡⚡️

Another new build transformed into a much more practical and usable loft space. 💪🔨🏠
