Next weekend (28th/29th June) I'll be teaching a workshop covering the Kotō Ryū Kurai Dori and Shoden Gata. This will include all 18 kata on Saturday, along with a start into some lesser seen material that is transmitted with this level on the Sunday. The focus will be on the correct use of bio-mechanics, footwork and structure towards the goal of "パワーからの脱却" or 'ridding oneself of power' as it states at the start of the old Kotō Ryū VHS.
We've been focusing on Kotō Ryū for the past two years at the Shugyō Dōjō and everything taught will be based on my notes from having covered Kotō Ryū a number of times in Japan with a number of the Shihan, as well as other written sources I've translated from Japanese into English over the past two or three years....so be sure to bring a notebook and pen!
Training on Saturday will be from 10am to 5pm, Sunday 10:30 to 1pm, 30 euro for Saturday, 10 euro for Sunday and 30 euro for both. Saturday will be outdoors so please bring along suitable clothes, snacks and water. Sunday will be held at the Bujinkan Gunn Dōjō in Walkinstown (cheers Hujo!).
If you're interested in attending drop me an message or email and I'll pass on more details.
