Indian Army Thwarts Pakistani Border Attack

An attempt by the Pakistani Army’s border action team to attack an Indian Army picket along the Line of Control (LoC) was foiled on Sunday night, leading to the killing of an intruder.

Four rocket-propelled gr***de launchers were seized. The incident occurred metres from the LoC in Indian territory. The body of the intruder was recovered on Monday morning by Indian troops as both sides exchanged heavy fire across the LoC through the night.

The incident occurred at around 5.25 pm on Sunday when soldiers stationed at Sarla Top in Poonch sector noticed suspicious movement 70 metres from the post, in Indian territory. The post is located ahead of the electrified security fencing running along the LoC and is less than 200 metres from the LoC.

Sources said Indian troops opened fire at the intruding team. It is suspected that the intruding team had Pakistan Army regulars helping them to infiltrate.

The intruders fired a round from the RPG at the post leading to minor injuries to three jawans. Pakistani posts in the vicinity started firing to give cover to them. The Indian Army retaliated.

Sources said the Army had specific inputs suggesting that the Pakistan Army, along with terrorists, had concentrated in Gulpur area on its side to target Indian posts along the LoC.

CHANGE OF A NATION FROM WEAPON IMPORTING TO AN EXPORTING ONE, WHOM TO CONGRATULATE MODI OR THE CONGRESS GOVT, THINK WISELY !!!!!!!!!!! JAI HIND.
India is in talks with “certain” countries in Africa for possible export of the indigenous Light Combat Helicopter even as the Defence Ministry has set a target of $2 billion worth of exports over the next two years. The weapons trial of the LCH is planned in July-August this year. While the Army has placed an order for 114 LCH with state-runHindustan Aeronautics Limited, the IAF has ordered 65. The successful demonstration of the LCH in firing 70 mm rockets was conducted during the Iron Fist exercise of the IAF held recently. The certification trials with integration of mission sensors such as electro optical system, helmet pointing system and weapon system like air to air missiles, turret gun and rockets are planned between July and August this year. “We are in talks with certain countries in Africa who have evinced interest in the LCH. With great value for money, the helicopter is an attractive buy for many countries,” a senior defence official said. Asked why the countries would be interested in a chopper which is yet to get final certification, the official said, “The certification is a formal process. The countries interested in the LCH in the current form do not need high features like air to air missiles. For them turret gun along with some other features work.” LCH is a 5.5-tonne class combat helicopter designed and developed by HAL. Its features include sleek and narrow fuselage, tri-cycle crash worthy landing gear, crash worthy and self-sealing fuel tanks, armour protection, nuclear and low visibility features which makes the LCH lethal, agile and survivable. Designed for anti-tank and anti-infantry roles with a maximum speed of 275 kilometers per hour, the LCH is also capable of high-altitude warfare since its operational ceiling will be 16,000 to 18,000 feet. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had on Saturday said government is pushing for defence exports and plans to export Tejas fighter aircraft as well. “I know it is not easy. Weapons and export of defence goods have double problems. One is whom you are exporting to and the second is one has to go on checking all international requirements,” he had said. Explaining that push for exports has started showing results, Parrikar said, “From a meager 140-150 million dollars, this year, I think we have crossed 330 odd million dollars. We have doubled the export. I have set a target for myself. In the next two years, why not touch $2 billion. It is not an impossible target.”

WILL INDIA GO FOR S-500..???????
India will delay the purchase of five regimental units of Russian-made S-400 Triumf advanced Air Defense Systems (NATO reporting name: SA-21 Growler) by at least two years, a senior official within the Indian Ministry of Defense said, according to Defense News. “Our priority is to clear the global buy of $8.9 billion for Rafale fighters, $1.5 billion for very short range air defense (VSHORAD) man-portable systems and $1.5 billion in short-range surface-to-air missile (SRSAM) systems. There is no money for other foreign purchases,” the senior defense official who requested anonymity explained. The estimated $4.5 billion defense deal was discussed in the Indian Parliament this week by Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar, who gave no indication about an expected delay. In a written reply to an Indian parliamentarian, Parrikar explained that “the five firing units of S-400 LRSAM system are planned for induction in Indian Air Force in 13th plan period (2017-2022).” In April, a number of Indian media outlets reported that a contract for the purchase of the S-400 had been signed already. However, Sergey Chemezov, the director-general of Russia’s Rostec State Corporation, was quick to deny that the defense deal had been concluded. “The contract has not yet been signed,” he said, according to TASS. In his written statement issued on Tuesday, Parrikar elaborated on the rationale behind the procurement of the new missile defense system: The Defense Acquisition Council has in its meeting held on 17th December, 2015, accorded approval for purchase of S-400 LRSAM system (Triumf Missile System) along with associated equipment and missiles from Russia. S-400 has better performance parameters compared to S-300 on account of (i) maximum and minimum target engagement range, (ii) minimum target engagement altitude, (iii) maximum speed of target engaged, (iv) number of targets engaged simultaneously, (v) maximum radar cross-section of targets engaged, and (vi) deployment time. Parrikar still did not reveal what type of missiles India will receive from Russia for the S-400 missile defense system. I explained previously (See: “India Cleared Purchase of Russian S-400 Missile Defense System”): The 40N6 missile allegedly has an operational range of 400 kilometers (248.5 miles), although it is unclear whether the weapon is operational in Russia yet. The range of the 48N6 missile is more limited at 250 kilometers (155 miles). The S-400 can purportedly fire three types of missiles at a rate 2.5 times faster than its predecessor the S-300. Once acquired, India will likely station three S-400 regiments in the West facing Pakistan and two units in the country’s East in close proximity to the Sino-Indian border. China has also ordered six S-400 units and is expecting their delivery within the next 12 months.
