The [Florida] State 404 Program is responsible for overseeing permitting for any project proposing dredge or fill activities within state assumed waters. Such projects include, but are not limited to: single family residences; commercial developments; utility projects; environmental restoration and enhancement; linear transportation projects; governmental development; certain agricultural and silvicultural activities; and in-water work within assumed fresh water bodies such as boat ramps, living shorelines and other shoreline stabilization.

EPA approved Florida’s program on Dec. 17, 2020. The State 404 Program became effective on Dec. 22, 2020, the date EPA published approval in the Federal Register.

Florida’s assumption package submitted to EPA on Aug. 20, 2020, and associated materials (including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Biological Opinion) are available for public review.

The 2022-2023 Final State 404 Program Annual Report is available for public review.

Chapter 62-331, F.A.C., and the State 404 Program Applicant's Handbook can be found on the Rules page, and the Memoranda of Agreement regarding the State 404 Program can be found on the Operating Agreements page.

Quick guide to all 6 amendments on Florida ballot. Here's what your yes or no vote will do
Portrait of C. A. BridgesC. A. Bridges
USA TODAY NETWORK - Florida

There are six constitutional amendments on the Nov. 5 ballot in Florida that could cause major, sweeping changes in the state. Here's a quick rundown.

More details on each one are available here.

Amendment 1 - Partisan School Board Members
Added by: Florida Legislature
Voting yes: District school board elections would be partisan again with candidates' political parties listed with their names on ballots, the way they were before voters decided to make them nonpartisan in 1998.
Voting no: Leaves the races nonpartisan.
Amendment 2 - Right to Hunt and Fish
Added by: Florida Legislature
Voting yes: Enshrines hunting and fishing "preserved forever as a public right" in the Florida constitution and establishes that hunting and fishing are the preferred means for "responsibly managing and controlling fish and wildlife." Critics have said the second part could be used to hamper conservationist efforts.
Voting no: Leaves things as they are.
Amendment 3 - Recreational Ma*****na
Added by: Citizen initiative
Voting yes: Anyone 21 years old and older would be able to use and possess up to 3 ounces of ma*****na with not more than 5 grams in a concentrated form (with assorted restrictions). Pot could be sold through ma*****na dispensaries without the need for a medical ma*****na card. The specifics of much of this would be subject to laws created by the Florida Legislature and legal challenges that may follow.
Voting no: Recreational ma*****na would stay illegal.
Amendment 4 - Abortion Access
Added by: Citizen initiative
Voting yes: Makes abortion legal until fetal viability, which is generally considered to be around 23-24 weeks. It would also allow abortions when necessary to protect a patient’s health, as determined by a health care provider.
Voting no: Leaves abortions illegal in Florida after 6 weeks unless two physicians are willing to state that the pregnant person would die without one.
Amendment 5 - Homestead Annual Inflation Adjustment
Added by: Florida Legislature
Voting yes: Ties part of homestead property exemptions to inflation rates, could reduce revenue for local governments.
Voting no would leave homestead exemption rates as they are now.
Amendment 6 - Public Campaign Financing
Added by: Florida Legislature
Voting yes: Public funding would end for candidates for governor/lieutenant governor, attorney general, chief financial officer and agriculture commissioner. Supporters say the amendment would save taxpayer money and help fund other government services. Critics say it will benefit candidates getting big-donor cash.
Voting no: Leaves things as they are.

As a companion, the Chesapeake is a highly intelligent and independent thinking dog. He is very aware of his surroundings and his loyal loving nature with his “family” find him a good watch dog. He is very affectionate with his owners and considers himself an equal member of his family. At home, he is a quiet sensible dog that loves to follow you from room to room. Outdoors, he is an active dog who loves to swim, hike, hunt and retrieve, or do anything his owner likes to do. It is imperative that owners set boundaries of acceptable behavior from puppyhood. Obedience and socialization are extremely important. Training must be consistent – you must mean what you say. They are very clever even as puppies. Without direction, they can quickly get out of hand and end up training you! If this is the right breed for you, most people never own another breed of dog. amchessieclub.org
