New customer – FANUC W0 wire EDM with a persistent short-circuit fault.

Today’s job involved tracking down an intermittent short on a FANUC Tape-Cut W0-series machine.

After working through the usual suspects — guides, contacts, flushing, and the discharge path — the real culprit revealed itself: a damaged machining-lead harness on the upper head.

A full strip-down, continuity testing, and a complete harness repair later, the machine is now back to cutting cleanly with a stable gap.

Always satisfying bringing an older FANUC wire machine back to life — especially for a new customer seeing their machine running properly for the first time in a long while.
