Employee Spotlight: Jim Funke — 35 Years of Calm, Craft and Unmatched Commitment
Some careers are measured in milestones. Jim Funke’s 35 years at Electrosonic are measured in something far more lasting, impact.
As the longest-tenured U.S. employee at Electrosonic, Jim has been a steady presence through decades of industry change and increasingly complex experiential AV projects. What has never changed is his standard, a deep commitment to his craft, an unwavering focus on client outcomes and a level of dedication that continues to set the benchmark for AV excellence.
Across countless projects, Jim has earned a reputation that extends well beyond the company itself. Clients specifically request him by name. Teammates rely on him for guidance, collaboration and problem-solving at any stage of a project. And whether he is on-site or supporting from afar, Jim is known for bringing clarity, confidence and consistency to even the most demanding environments.
His approach is defined by ownership and follow-through. Jim does not just solve problems, he ensures they are solved the right way, every time.
As Chris Geysbeek, CTS, Project Engineering Manager at Electrosonic, shares, Jim’s impact extends beyond projects and into the broader industry itself:
“Jim is such a powerhouse in our industry. While technology changes and evolves, there is one thing consistent, and that is Jim Funke.”
Beyond his technical expertise, Jim is also a mentor and collaborator. He is the person colleagues turn to when they need perspective, reassurance or a second set of eyes on a complex challenge. His willingness to help, no matter how busy he is, has shaped not only projects, but people.
And while his work ethic is extraordinary, those who know Jim also recognize the personality behind it, a dry sense of humor, a grounded presence and a genuine enjoyment of life outside of work, from off-roading to concerts and time with family.
Thirty-five years in, Jim remains a defining part of Electrosonic’s story. Not just because of what he has built, but because of how consistently he has shown up, for clients, for colleagues and for every project he touches.
Congratulations, Jim, on 35 years of leadership and impact!
