This statement from Air Chief is distilled from the reports from Integrated defence staff HQ in 2006 and a high level tri-service committee in 2011. The same sentiment was reflected by defence minister AK Antony last month in parliament.

I wonder how many Women pilots participated in precipitating this decision.?? Amongst the key members of the committee, I wonder how many of them have been colleagues of women pilots.... to have known/endorsed the 'weakness'!!

Are all the women pregnant and menopausal at all times, not to be able to undertake the stress of fighter flying?? But transport and helicopter flying can absorb these hormonal issues??

"our society has still not evolved to accept these roles being played by women"!! What else could be a better proof of it!!

"what if she gets caught as a POW?".... Are men particularly fond of being POWs??? NO-one dares to imagine this!! By the way, how many men have you found on the roadside who have been r***d and brutalised.... and denied justice in their own homeland!!

Though Indian women have read deep into this 'male bastion', this is the first forum in the country to provide a common platform to all the women in this niche domain who would like to promote this opportunity to all other desirous women, and also seek the rare professional women companionship.

We must leverage on our strength of increasing numbers and advancing leadership in this profession, to ensure that the entire women community not receives all that we deserve, but also establishes each one of us as a role model.

I request all of you to please suggest ways to achieve the same, and help build up this association.
