By the late 1800s, German farmers sought small dogs capable of hunting vermin while retaining the beloved temperament and character of the Standard Schnauzer. It all makes perfect sense now! Hereโ€™s the short answer: ๐Ÿ•’ 30โ€“60 minutes of daily activity is just right for your mini! Miniature Schnauzers are smart, energetic, and love to be busy โ€” but they donโ€™t need hours of intense running. What they really thrive on is a mix of light walks, playtime, and mental stimulation.

๐ŸŽถ Die invoer van pyporrels vanaf Europa, veral gedurende die 19de eeu, het die Suid-Afrikaanse musiekkultuur onbetwisbaar overryk.

Uit musikale, argitektoniese en opvoedkundige oogpunt het pyporrels โ€™n belangrike rol gespeel in baie gemeenskappe. In baie gemeenskappe was die orrel 'n soort statussimbool van kerkbyeenkomste en musiekuitvoerings. Vandag nog het die pyporrel nog niks van sy bekoring en verbintenis met die musiektradisies van Europa verloor nie. Hier is 'n bietjie inligting oor 'n paar van die belangrikste orrels in kerke van Suid Afrika.

๐ŸŽน Britse pyporrel skuif na Suid-Afrika: Die fantastiese Hill orrel in St George's-katedraal, Kaapstad is oorspronklik in 1675 deur Bernhard Smith vir St. Margaret's in Londen gebou. In 1804 is dit deur John Avery opgeknap. Verdere wysigings en uitbreidings het dwarsdeur die 19de eeu plaasgevind deur J. C. Bishop, G. M. Holdich en William Hill & Son. In 1909 is dit na Kaapstad verskuif, waar dit deur Hill & Son orrel uitgebrei is. 'n Byvoeging van verskeie registers van die orrel by St. Mary's Church, Nottingham, is in 1973 gemaak.

In 1953 het die Kerkraad besluit om die Hoets-orrel te vervang met 'n nuwe instrument wat deur Pelz en Zoon van Alkmaar, Holland, teen 'n koste van ยฃ17 500 gebou is. Die orrel is op 1 Desember 1957 deur dr. AJ van der Merwe ingewy.

๐ŸŽน Orrelbouers van Leeds: Die oorspronklike pyporrel by die Kaapstad Metropolitaanse Metodistekerk (die huidige Sentrale Metodistesending โ€“ CMM) is geรฏnstalleer deur die Engelse orrelboufirma, J.J. Binns. James Jepson Binns (1855 โ€“ 1929) het 'n firma in Bramley, Leeds, in 1880 gestig en gou 'n reputasie verwerf vir fyn vakmanskap en duursaamheid van sy instrumente. Hierdie was so goed gebou dat hulle gou die bynaam "Battleship Binns" verdien het omdat hulle feitlik onvernietigbaar was.

๐ŸŽน In 1897 het mnr. William Charles Cooper (1875 โ€“ 1953), 'n werknemer van J.J. Binns, na Suid-Afrika gereis met 'n nuwe orrel vir die Worcester NG Kerk. Nadat hy die orrel in Worcester geรฏnstalleer het, het Cooper besluit om in Suid-Afrika te bly om te sien of hy meer bestellings vir nuwe orrels kon kry, aangesien daar 'n duidelike vraag regdeur die Kaap die Goeie Hoop was. Hy het daarin geslaag om aanvanklik vier bestellings te kry: die Kaapstad Metropolitaanse Metodistekerk (soos CMM destyds bekend was), die Wynberg Metodistekerk, die Rosebank Metodistekerk sowel as die Kimberley Baptistekerk.
