After one of the wettest winters in recent years, conditions have shifted quickly. Across much of the UK, March rainfall dropped to around 50% of the long-term average, while sunshine levels and temperatures have both been higher than normal for early spring.

This combination is already placing pressure on turf surfaces.

Early-season stress is often subtle — but once it becomes visible, recovery becomes far more difficult.

Our latest Agronomy Focus looks at:

• What’s happening right now
• Why stress is developing earlier than usual
• Practical steps to stay ahead of it

After a great start to the year at BTME, we’re pleased to confirm that Soil Biology will be exhibiting at GroundFest 2026.
We took a year off after nearly losing our tent to the weather last time 💨 — so this year we’ve played it safe and secured an indoor spot!
📍 Hall 1 — Stand 19
Come and meet our expert team to talk about practical, biology-led approaches to healthier, more resilient turf and planted areas. We work with contractors as well as facility and club grounds managers, supporting programmes that deliver consistent, reliable results across multiple sites and conditions — focused on long-term plant and soil health rather than short-term fixes that can ultimately compromise turf quality.
We look forward to connecting at the show.
See you there 👋

Cold snaps, frozen ground and prolonged saturation all place unique stresses on turf and soil. Our latest article looks at how soil biology continues to function through winter — and what that means for decision-making now.
