Traditional metal 3D printing used to require massive capital, hazardous metal powders, and machines that cost more than a house.

Brad Woods decided to change that from his workbench. By loading metal into standard filament, he made it possible to print real metal parts on a basic 3D printer and sinter them in a standard ceramic kiln. Eleven years and a patent later, his invention is used by NASA, the military, and high school classrooms alike.
