What a fantastic few days at the IAIAsa Conference 2026 in Stellenbosch!

It was a great opportunity to reconnect with existing clients and industry partners, while also meeting new professionals and building meaningful connections across the environmental sector.

We’re here! Our first day has been amazing — connecting with people from different disciplines, sectors and fields, and engaging in such enriching conversations and knowledge-sharing.

Introducing Rudolf Gouws, our Aquatic Ecologist at SAS Environmental Group, who joined the team in January 2025.

Rudolf is passionate about working outdoors, contributing to meaningful environmental assessments, and helping protect our valuable aquatic ecosystems. Since joining SAS, he has strengthened his technical reporting and field assessment skills, while developing an even sharper eye for ecological data interpretation.

One of his proudest achievements? Surviving fieldwork in every kind of weather and still arriving with a smile (and dry socks!).

His favourite quote says it all: "Go where you feel alive."
