What an incredible week in South Africa! Komatsu Underground Hard Rock South Africa recently hosted a global product training, bringing together participants from multiple African nations.
With support from our global business unit leaders, and alongside our distributors UVBotswana, MineTech, and Mine Machines Zimbabwe, as well as our technology partner Immersive Technologies, we focused on building deeper product capability and even stronger connections.
More than a training, it was a shared experience of learning, collaboration, and relationship building—equipping teams with practical skills and insights to drive performance and customer success.
Participants also had the opportunity to tour our new Montabert drifter repair workshop and see our underground hard rock machines in action at our test yard, including the ZJ21 jumbo drill, ZB21 bolter, HX45 45-tonne truck, WX08LP 8-tonne low profile loader, and UVB’s low profile underground cassette loader.
A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make it such a meaningful week.

Komatsu has completed its acquisition of GHH Group GmbH (GHH), a manufacturer of underground mining, tunnelling and special civil engineering equipment headquartered in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. This acquisition enhances Komatsu’s underground mining product lineup with GHH’s loaders and dump trucks and expands its global reach and service capabilities in key markets in Europe, Southern Africa, India and Chile. With GHH’s talented staff now part of Komatsu, the company aims to offer greater value and support to customers worldwide.

GHH is excited to join the Komatsu family and looking forward to showcasing our products and capabilities as part of one of the largest global mining OEMs and global brands.
