⛽ JJ Energy Fuel Price Alert | August 2026 Outlook
As at 15 July 2026

⚠️ Warning: Fuel price outlook remains highly volatile.
The projected August fuel price decreases have narrowed significantly due to increasing international market pressure.

Current CEF Mid-Month Projections (Effective 5 August 2026):

⛽ ULP 93 & 95:
⬇️ R1.26 – R1.31 per litre

⛽ Diesel 0.005%:
⬇️ R0.74 per litre

⛽ Illuminating Paraffin:
⬇️ R0.73 per litre

Market Update

📈 Oil Prices Rising
Brent crude is trading between US$78–80 per barrel following renewed instability after the US-Iran ceasefire ended in early July.

💱 Rand Under Pressure
The Rand is hovering around R16.30–R16.40/US$, increasing fuel import costs.

💸 Fuel Levy Relief Ended
The temporary fuel levy relief has expired, leaving local fuel prices fully exposed to global market movements.

🚛 Supply Costs Increasing
Wholesale supply prices have risen sharply over the past few days, with supplier rebates reducing significantly.

Outlook

With more than two weeks remaining before the monthly fuel price adjustment, continued geopolitical tensions or further weakness in the Rand could reduce these projected decreases further—or potentially turn them into increases.
