🔹 This past week, Afrigen Biologics (Pty) Ltd proudly hosted the first cohort participants of the Africa CDC Biomanufacturing Fellowship Programme at our facilities. As a member of the Southern African Regional Capability and Capacity Network (SA-RCCN), established by Africa CDC, we welcomed five fellows with diverse expertise that enriched discussions throughout the sessions.

🔬 The fellows were introduced to Afrigen’s end-to-end vaccine capabilities, spanning research and development, technology transfer within our CMC team, production, quality control and assurance, supply chain, engineering, validation, and skills development. These interactions were insightful and fostered mutual learning between the fellows and Afrigen teams.

⏭️ We wish the fellows success in the remainder of their programme and look forward to seeing them emerge as future leaders in across Africa.

🔬At the G20 Health Ministers' Meeting in South Africa 🇿🇦

The past week, Afrigen Biologics (Pty) Ltd had the honour of joining global health leaders in Polokwane at the G20 Health Ministers' Meeting in Polokwane, where the mRNA Technology Transfer Programme was proudly showcased.

Our team engaged with delegates from around the world to highlight what African-led science and biomanufacturing looks like in action. From a modest lab to a fully integrated end -to-end mRNA R&D and manufacturing platform, our journey reflects the very purpose of this Programme: to build capabilities where they are most needed — in the Global South, for the Global South.

We are proud to be part of a network driving equity, innovation, and regional resilience. This is not just about pandemic preparedness — it's about building sustainable health systems rooted in local expertise, local talent, and local solutions.

🧬 Here's to African science on the global stage.
