Scot-Air Engineering is using some of the most cutting edge monitoring devices on some of our projects. We are currently installing various types of level sensors from VEGA Americas, Inc. on a fume scrubber project for Anglo American.

We are using the exceptional VEGASWING 63 and VEGAPULSE 64 devices. One uses a radar sensor and the latter vibrating sonic probes.

Creating fully custom Chemical Scrubbing Systems is one of Scot-Air Engineerings' main focuses. Wet Scrubbing is one of the most efficient processes to filter and prevent harmful fumes from being extracted into the atmosphere at laboratories.

We design the scrubbers around parameters we gathered in a Vent Audit. These properties include the amount of extraction; the available footprint; the amounts of harmful chemicals in extracted air, and the pressure drops on how the system will be routed. Ensuring the process is highly efficient, not under, or over-designed.

Part of our Green Initiative is to chase maximum efficiency. We try to conserve as much energy as possible in the systems we design.

One of these systems is the Polypropylene extraction fans we use on our scrubber systems. Their design has been fine-tuned over more than a generation to give the highest efficiency possible.

Scot-Air Engineering recently completed the design, supply and installation of a Pressurization unit for a gold recovery building. The system is a full fresh air system with heating- and cooling capabilities on board.

This system helps provide a fresh air supply at a constant temperature to provide spot cooling in the recovery building. Spot-cooling is a method of creating cold zones within a high-temperature environment and processes to make the environment more comfortable to work in. The system also helps balance the air extraction system from extraction points in the building.

At Scot-Air Engineering we make use of SOLIDWORKS Professional to assist our design, and installation team to ensure quality and accurate drawings of the equipment. We manufacture and install the equipment according to our detailed designs to deliver the best-integrated product.

Scot-Air Engineering has an experienced team that focuses on plant maintenance. They cover the complete extraction, ventilation and filtration system of various plants throughout Southern Africa.

One of the plants we have been maintaining is the Mponeng Gold Plant. We carried out quarterly maintenance on their smelting extraction systems. Checking the complete system for corrosion, changing baghouse filter bags and ensuring the system is safe to use.

Scot-Air Engineering is following a green initiative. We encourage more labs and mining plants, to have a good look at their circulation, and filtration systems. The deepest operating mine in the world. Mponeng Gold Mine.

Scot-Air Engineering is the proud designer/supplier of the extraction, and ventilation equipment at Harmony’s Mponeng plant.

Our largest project was the installation of a complete extraction system for the gold smelting process. Our innovative 2 stage system uses a combination between a baghouse and a cyclone to extract any harmful fumes from the smelting process. Our Process is Improving the occupational health of the plant employees, and filtering any harmful fumes entering the atmosphere.
