After our recent Under Pressure Tapping Tee demonstration, we received a few great questions:

💭 Where does the cut-out piece go?
💭 How does the fitting cut into a live pipe without leaking?

Here's the answer:

The cut-out piece of pipe remains captured inside the cutting tool and does not hamper the flow of water through the system.

This is one of the key advantages of the Under Pressure Tapping Tee. The fitting is designed as a sealed system, allowing the pipe to be cut while the line remains live and pressurised, without leakage.

The fitting is rated for line pressures up to 16 Bar and is designed to maintain a secure seal throughout the cutting process.

You'll also notice an end cap on top of the fitting. Its purpose is simply to keep dust and debris out of the top works and does not contribute to the sealing of the fitting itself.
