A few examples of non compliant installs…
Be vigilant when pulling the trigger on a solar system. Most installers use mounting structures which are not approved for use in that specific environment.
The effect is a dangerous installation that could cost you your investment.
Insist on the following before you make your decision:
1. Type of equipment to be used and what can be expected from the design that is proposed. Not all inverters can do the same thing….your decision on the type and brand of inverter affects your ROI.
Battery ratings are very important in that design…clue yourself up on charge and discharge ratings of different brands.
Mounting structures are equally important…they should last as long as you expect the system to last
2. Warranties
3. Electrical contractor registered with the Department of Labor
4.Insist on a Certificate of Compliance upon completion
5. References!
6. The cheapest isn’t always the best
7. If you are not sure of the installation being up to par, call an inspector….
Remember to do some homework!
