Every squat, jump, twist, landing and rapid change in direction is building something extremely important: mobility, balance and whole-body control.
Why does a humanoid robot need to learn moves like these?
๐ง 1. BODY AWARENESS
The robot must understand where its arms, legs and body are in space โ continuously.
โ๏ธ 2. DYNAMIC BALANCE
Standing still is relatively easy. Moving quickly while keeping your centre of gravity under control is considerably harder.
โก 3. REAL-TIME CORRECTION
Every movement creates forces that can destabilise the robot. Its control systems must detect these changes and compensate almost instantly.
๐ฆฟ 4. COORDINATION
Legs, hips, torso and arms cannot operate independently. Complex movement teaches the robot to coordinate its entire body as one system.
๐ 5. RECOVERY
The real world isn't a perfectly flat laboratory floor. Robots need to cope with bumps, slips, unexpected loads and external forces โ and recover without falling.
