Most of the time there is very little space to work in , as the sites are often located between a road and a built structure leaving very little room to sink the jacking pit, the ground conditions have also not been that easy with the water table being high and hard rock being encountered at many of the sites .The job requires extensive pumping to remove the water and rock breakers or even blasting to get though the rock on several of the sites.

Is a specialist tunnelling method for installing underground pipelines with the minimum surface distruption.
The pipe jacking method consists on the principle of driving the tunnel from a launch shaft in the direction of a target (or reception) shaft.
The alignment is controlled using a laser beam, from the launch shaft, which guides the machine thru the tunnel axis. The laser is the basic control device and it works with inclinometers and gyroscopes. The lazer beam is on a target infront to guide Line and level. The breaking of the material is by man power with pionatic breakers.
