CALCICLEAN STEAM IRON DESCALER LIQUID

Place 2 cups upside down on an old newspaper, wide enough for a steam iron to stand on top of both cups.
Add 2 to 4 tablespoons of Iron Descaler to the Iron’s tank. Add water and fill half way.
Switch on the iron and allow to steam.
Allow enough steaming.
Empty the tank of all excess water.
Rinse the tank and fill again with cold water.
Switch the iron on and steam out all the water and rinse again.
Turn the Iron upside down so the steam jets are on top. Drop undiluted iron descaler liquid into each steam jet, while the iron is still hot.
Wash down the iron with cold water.

THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF HARD WATER

Temporary Hard Water: Caused mainly by calcium bicarbonate (Ca(HCO₃)₂). Boiling this water converts bicarbonates into insoluble carbonates, forming scale deposits.

Permanent Hard Water: Caused by other salts such as calcium sulfate or magnesium sulfate, which do not precipitate upon boiling.

Wet a sponge with undiluted stain remover and swab the stained area repeatedly. Once clean, wash down with clean water.

WHAT IS HARD WATER?
Hard water is water that contains high levels of dissolved minerals, primarily calcium and magnesium ions.

AND WHAT CAUSES HARD WATER?
Hard water forms when water passes through mineral-rich deposits such as limestone, chalk, or gypsum, which release calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺) ions into the water. Other metals like iron, aluminum, and manganese may also contribute in certain areas.
The hardness of water is determined by the concentration of these divalent cations, with higher levels resulting in harder water. Rainwater and snow are naturally soft, but water becomes hard as it percolates through mineral-rich soils and rocks.
