Yesterday was Flag Day 🇺🇸. While July 4 gets a lot more fanfare, June 14 commemorates the adoption of the official American flag by the Second Continental Congress in 1777.
David Janik, president of the National Flag Day Foundation, says the emblem is important enough to have its own day. “July 4th, we’re celebrating our independence. But on Flag Day, we’re celebrating the birth of our flag, which is the symbol of our country, the symbol that is seen all around the world as the helper, the people who won’t leave you out in the cold.”
So let’s keep flying the Red, White, and Blue, and celebrate everything this symbol of freedom and unity represents.
