Our CEO, Mrs Hajira Khalid, had the pleasure of visiting the Magdeburg Chamber of Commerce, where she was warmly welcomed and enjoyed a valuable and enriching experience.

During her visit, she had the privilege of meeting Mr Andreas Kerzig, who spearheads the International Affairs Division of the Magdeburg Chamber of Commerce. The engagement provided a wonderful opportunity to exchange insights, foster meaningful connections, and explore possibilities for international collaboration.

We remain humbled and grateful for the opportunity to build bridges across borders, strengthen international relationships, and embrace new avenues for growth and partnership.

600,000 kilograms of plastic. A new lifecycle every month. ♻️

MAK Plastics’ new facility processes more than 600 tonnes of used plastic every month, turning it back into raw material.

Behind that work are 40 permanent staff and 18 interns—keeping more than 20 tonnes moving through the recycling process on an average day. 👏

Did you know used plastic can be collected, sorted, cleaned and turned back into raw material that manufacturers use again? That’s what we do at MAK Plastics every day. 💪

Our CEO, Hajira Khalid, landed in Germany yesterday for the Partnering in Business with Germany programme, and her first company visit took her to ÖHMI AG in Magdeburg.

ÖHMI has built a strong reputation in laboratory analytics, quality assurance, process management, auditing and certification. Its expertise runs across the food industry, agriculture and the circular economy.

The visit matters to our vision of taking recycled plastics into the food-grade market. Rigorous testing, traceability, quality assurance, food safety and certification are the standards we must keep working towards, and this first visit has already given us valuable insight into them.

There is a lot to learn when you step beyond your own borders and open yourself to new knowledge, new partnerships and different ways of doing things. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect and grow through this programme.

How waste becomes a wash basin.

The BOPP Wash Basin is made from 100% post-consumer BOPP. That material is hard to recycle: it is heavily printed, and inks and contaminants make it difficult. MAK Plastics turned it into an award-winning product, Overall Winner at the 12th annual SAPRO Awards.
