For Kouga Wind Farm, creating a better future begins with creating opportunities for young people today. 🙏

Through investments in education, literacy, skills development, and training, Kouga Wind Farm is helping to remove barriers that often stand between young people and their potential. Young people are receiving bursaries, career guidance, youth development programmes, and educational support initiatives, investments which open doors and create pathways to meaningful participation in the economy.

As we celebrate Youth Day under the theme “RESET@50 - The Future Calls”, we honour the ambition, and potential of South Africa's youth. The future is calling, and together we are helping ensure that the next generation has the tools, opportunities, and support they’ll need. ❤️

Alex Dickson is one of the 52 graduates produced by the Kouga Wind Farm Bursary Programme since 2018. 🥳

He completed his BA in Psychology at Nelson Mandela University, graduated in April 2024 and didn’t stop there. He went on to pursue his Honours in Psychology, with his sights set on achieving a PhD and becoming a practicing Psychologist. 👏

Reflecting on his journey, Alex shares:
“KWF bridged the financial gap, ensuring I had no financial struggles. Beyond financial aid, they offered emotional support and guidance. My former mentor, Asiphe Madyibi, consistently checked in on me from every angle.”

Alex’s story is a reminder that the right support can make all the difference not just academically, but personally too. We hope it inspires more young people to take advantage of the opportunities around them. 🙏

We’re proud to be part of Alex’s journey and wish him all the best as he continues to grow and pursue his goals.

The transition into Grade 9 is a big academic step but learners like Asakhe Ndziba from Lungiso Public High School are proving that hard work and discipline make all the difference. 👏

Asakhe achieved an impressive:
📚 71% Overall Average
➕ 82% in Mathematics

By meeting and exceeding the 60% Galaxy Benchmark in Term 1, Asakhe has shown what is possible when potential is matched with focus and commitment.

The Kouga Wind Farm is proud to support programmes that help young people strengthen their academic performance and strive for excellence.

Well done Asakhe, we are proud of the achiever you are becoming. 💚

Welcome to the Team, Athenkosi Jodwana! 🥳

We are excited to welcome AthenkosiJodwana as our new Economic Development Intern at Kouga Wind Farm. Athenkosi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Public Administration from Nelson Mandela University and joins the team with a strong passion for community impact and development. ❤️

Sharing her aspirations for the role, Athenkosi says:
"My aspiration is to do work that will impact and improve the community and the environment. Wind farms are not just about electricity, they also invest in their local communities."

As she begins this journey, Athenkosi looks forward to learning more about how energy projects connect with social impact, while also developing her teamwork, administration, and problem-solving skills.

Her appointment is a reminder to young people that when they stay resolute and open to learning, they begin to recognise the opportunities around them, and grow into the leaders their communities need. 🌍

Kouga Wind Farm was proud to be part of two incredible days at Mentors Country Estate. The Kouga Careers Expo was exciting, and the team had meaningful engagement with learners across our communities and beyond. 🙏🥳

The expo created real opportunities for young people to explore their futures. In line with this, Kouga Wind Farm shared copies of its 16-page “Wind Energy Job Opportunities” guide, helping learners understand the wide range of career paths available in the renewable energy space.

It was encouraging to see so many learners actively engaging, asking questions, and exploring the different career pathways available to them. Platforms like these highlight the importance of exposure and support in shaping brighter futures for our youth. ❤️

The Kouga Wind Farm is excited to actively participate in and contribute to the Kouga Working World Careers Initiative – SA’s biggest Careers Fair now in Jeffrey’s Bay.

This impactful initiative connects school-leavers and unemployed youth with valuable tools and opportunities to shape their future. They will get Career Assessment Testing and guidance, Career Orientation Presentations, and access to over 50 educational institutions, employers, and support organisations. Access to all resources will be available free of charge.
