Mobile Repair Alert: Subaru XV

Fuji Performance On The Move!

You don’t always need to trailer your car to us to get it sorted. We took the Fuji Performance mobile kit out to a customer's home today to work on this clean Subaru WRX Hatchback.

On the list today:

Mobile Diagnostic Scan: Hunted down that pesky Check Engine Light and performed an ECU reset to get the system back to normal.

Catch Can Install: Fitted a fresh catch can on-site to keep the intake tract clean and protect that boxer engine from blow-by.

FROM FAILURE TO FUTURE-PROOF:

Subaru Impreza WRX Mega-Build! 🛠️

When this Subaru Impreza WRX rolled in with a failed old-gen EZ30D engine, we didn't just fix it—we completely revolutionized it. The customer opted for a serious upgrade, and we threw the absolute works at it.

Heart of the Beast (Engine & Turbo Setup)

* Out with the old: Replaced the failed EZ30D with a fresh, imported New-Gen EZ30R engine Running a GT30 Turbo

* Fueling: Upgraded to EJ25 565cc STi Injectors, custom fuel lines, relocated fuel pressure regulator, and a new fuel pressure gauge.

* Boost & Exhaust: Custom-fabricated header collectors (wrapped for heat management), modified downpipe (wrapped) to accommodate the new turbo location, a snug turbo blanket, a new 38mm external wastegate, and custom 63mm Stainless Steel boost pipes.

* Breathing & Cooling: Relocated catch can and brand-new silicone hoses throughout.

Drivetrain & Bulletproofing
* Transmission: Swapped in a replacement 4.444 Ratio Gearbox with fresh oil.

* Clutch: Installed a complete Exedy Clutch Kit to handle the new power.

* Axles: Fresh inner CV boots to keep things spinning smoothly.

* Prevention: We stripped the timing cover to replace all O-rings behind it with brand-new bolts. New spark plugs, full engine flush, fresh oil, and filter.

Clean Bay & Wiring Relocations

* Battery: Relocated to the boot with brand-new terminals and a Quick Disconnect negative terminal for convenience.

* Sensors: Gauge temp sensor relocated to the thermostat housing (perfectly controlling the cluster gauge and fans) + a dedicated management system temp sensor installed right in the head...And honestly, loads more that we can't even fit into one post!

The Final Stretch

We are doing one final oil change to premium Motul 10w60, running her through her paces, and then this monster is heading straight back to a very happy customer.

Major Maintenance, Custom Fab & Bulletproof Reliability Upgrades!

Subaru Forester XT S-Edition just received the ultimate treatment at Fuji Performance.
We didn’t just tick off the major service items—we completely transformed the exhaust system and threw on some critical engine bay upgrades to ensure this EJ stays healthy under boost.

Here is everything we wrapped up on this build:

Engine Bay & Reliability Upgrades

* Custom Catch Can Setup: Installed a dedicated catch can with brand new breather hoses and heavy-duty clamps to keep blow-by out of the intake, ensuring only clean air enters the combustion chamber.

* Quick-Disconnect Negative Battery Terminal: Fitted a quick and easy negative terminal disconnect switch—perfect for easy storage, working on the car, or a quick reset without fumbling for wrenches.

* Passenger-Side Cylinder 4 Cooling Mod:Cylinder 4 sits right at the back of the passenger side where engine heat gets trapped. We installed a proper cooling mod using premium FTF AN fittings to equalize coolant flow and protect against catastrophic ringland failure

Full Custom 76mm (3") Stainless Steel Exhaust Fabrication
We fabricated a completely restriction-free, high-flowing masterpiece from front to back:

* 76mm S/S Bellmouth Downpipe: Allows for smooth, optimal exhaust gas expansion right out of the turbo hot side.

* Full 76mm Stainless Steel Piping: Straight-through flow to eliminate backpressure.

* 76mm S/S Resonator: Welded in to eliminate nasty cabin drone while keeping the tone incredibly deep.

* Dual 76mm S/S Free-Flow Rear Silencers: Performance twin mufflers for that perfect balance of sound and exhaust flow.

* Leak-Free V-Band Flanges: Used high-quality V-band clamps throughout the system for a perfect seal and effortless removal down the road.

* Dual 101mm (4") Tips: Filling out the rear bumper perfectly for a massive, aggressive look.

The Major Engine Service & Timing

* Complete Cambelt Kit & New Water Pump: Brand new timing components installed for total peace of mind.

* Engine Flush & Premium Lubricants: Flushed out the old oil and filled her back up with high-performance Motul 10w60 Fully Synthetic Oil, a fresh OEM Oil Filter, and a new sump washer.

* Ceratec Oil Additive: Added Liqui Moly Ceratec to provide advanced anti-friction and wear protection for the internals.

* Cooling Overhaul: Brand new top and bottom radiator hoses, topped up with fresh, high-grade anti-freeze.

* Tune-Up Essentials: Crisp new spark plugs, a fresh OEM Air Filter, and a new OEM Cabin Filter for clean interior air.

Drivetrain Service

* Gearbox & Rear Diff: Drained and filled with premium Liqui Moly Oil for silky smooth shifting and bulletproof drivetrain protection.

Fuji Performance Tip: A catch can is essential on turbo Subarus. Over time, oil v***rs from the crankcase breathe back into your intake, lowering your effective fuel octane and increasing the risk of knock. Catching that oil v***r before it hits the intake keeps your engine running crisp and safe!

This S-Edition looks mean, sounds absolutely beautiful with the custom exhaust, and is mechanically locked down from top to bottom. Ready to hit the streets!

We stripped out the old, leaking unit, fitted a brand-new water pump, and topped it up with fresh, premium anti-freeze.
System bled.

Subaru Forester XT – EJ20 Dual AVCS Engine Swap 🔧🔥

This Forester XT came in for a complete engine replacement, and we opted for a dual AVCS EJ20 to give it a fresh, reliable heart. Every step was handled with precision to ensure performance and longevity.

Previous EJ25 Engine:The original EJ25 was tired — low compression across cylinders meant almost no power and constant struggle to build boost. It was clear this motor had reached the end of its life.

Now, with the EJ20 installed, compression is back where it should be, and boost response has returned — restoring the Forester’s performance.

Build Highlights:

Exhaust AVCS deleted and solid cam pulleys installed

New intake gaskets

New valve cover gaskets

New cam seals

New rear main seal

New spark plugs

New air filter

Engine flushed

New oil & oil filter

Power steering pipe repaired with new hose

New power steering fluid

All new clamps on water and breather pipes

Breather pipes replaced

New fan belt

Cracked exhaust headers replaced with a solid set

Original uppipe (with cat & EGT sensor) replaced with STI uppipe

ECU software updated: fueling corrected and EGT disabled

Result:This Forester XT now runs stronger, cleaner, and sharper — the EJ20 Dual AVCS paired with the STI uppipe delivers a responsive drive while ensuring long‑term reliability. Compression and boost are back, giving this Subaru the punch it was missing.

This one came in for a fast dumpvalve install, and we kept it clean and efficient:
