As we step into April, there’s a natural moment of pause, and of perspective.

What stands out for Leoka is not just the success of a single event, but the journey it represents.
The Career Day at Temba Baptist Community Church was more than an engagement; it was a deliberate investment in possibility.
It created a space where young minds could see beyond their current circumstances and begin to map out tangible futures.
The conversations, the curiosity, the questions, these are the early indicators of long-term impact.

For us, this initiative reinforces a core belief: meaningful change is built incrementally, one learner, one opportunity, one decision at a time.
It also signals where Leoka is headed. As we continue to grow, our role extends beyond delivering engineering solutions, we are actively shaping the ecosystem that will sustain the industry in years to come.
By nurturing future talent today, we are strengthening the pipeline of thinkers, builders, and problem-solvers who will define tomorrow.

This is not a once-off intervention. It is part of a broader, intentional journey, one that aligns our business with long-term societal progress and positions Leoka as a contributor to sustainable development on a global scale.

Because the future of engineering is not only about infrastructure- it’s about people.

One conversation. One opportunity. One learner at a time.

Following our recent Career Day, we’re reminded that meaningful impact doesn’t always start at scale, it starts with intention. By creating a platform where institutions could engage directly with young minds, we opened the door to possibility, clarity, and direction for learners navigating their post high school journey.

What stood out most was the alignment of purpose. Our partners didn’t just show up, they invested their time, shared their insights, and reinforced a collective commitment to shaping South Africa’s future talent pipeline. Their reflections in this video are a testament to what can be achieved when industry and education move in lockstep.

We closed the day with a pledge from our Managing Director, Katlego Makgata, committing R150,000 towards an education fund. This is not just a financial contribution, it is a deliberate step towards unlocking access, reducing barriers, and enabling potential.

Because when you educate one child, you don’t just change an individual outcome, you influence families, uplift communities, and contribute to a more resilient and capable nation.

At Leoka, we remain committed to building impact that is both intentional and scalable, starting with one learner, and growing from there.

This past weekend, LEOKA had the privilege of hosting a Career Day at Temba Baptist Community Church, bringing together learners and leading higher education institutions to inspire the next generation of professionals.

With the participation of UNISA, the University of Johannesburg (UJ), Tshwane North TVET College, and Inisys Engineering Solutions, learners were exposed to a wide range of study pathways, career opportunities, and the possibilities available to them post high school. The engagement created an important platform for young people to interact directly with institutions and industry professionals, empowering them to make informed decisions about their future.

Initiatives such as these contribute to broader global priorities around quality education, skills development, economic participation, and reducing barriers to opportunity. By connecting learners with institutions and industry, we help strengthen the talent pipeline required for sustainable economic growth and innovation.

As part of this commitment, LEOKA contributed R150,000 to an Educational Fund that will support learners and help unlock future opportunities for students who may otherwise face barriers to accessing higher education and technical training.

At LEOKA, we believe sustainable development begins with access to knowledge, mentorship, and opportunity. By investing in young people today, we are helping shape a future workforce capable of driving innovation, infrastructure development, and inclusive growth.

We remain committed to initiatives that empower communities, expand access to education, and contribute to building resilient economies for the future.
