The best home security tip that you may have never thought about...

My dad gave me this advice a long time ago when I moved into my first place. He even came out & changed the screws for me as soon as I moved in.

I thought I would share this with everyone as South Africa needs this!

Most contractors install the plates with the supplied screws which are only around 1,5cm - 2cm long & come out with one kick or hard pull…

My dad had installed 100mm screws in their place that go through the door frame and into the framing of the house…They going to kick & pull on the door for a long time if they wanted to gain access…

You can see in the picture the small screw in his hand is the screw supplied with the door hardware & the big screw being the 100mm screw giving unwanted intruders a massive headache!

Forcing a burglar to make a bunch of noise & delaying them in their initial plan, gives you time to arm yourself, call for help, escape danger & much more…

This has proven to work better than security gates with solid timber doors with multiple locks…what does it cost ? ? ? ONLY 2 FREAKING SCREWS & 5 MINUTES!!!
