Not sure if biogas is for you? Don't quite understand how it works?

If you're in Gauteng, Madam Waste is giving you the opportunity to come and see, interact with, and learn about the Vutha® system.

See it in action. Ask questions. Understand the possibilities and how it could transform the way you manage waste, energy, and even fertiliser in your everyday life.

Sometimes, you just have to see it for yourself.

Come and see. 👀🔥🌱

Archaea Eco's footprint is expanding.

Another system has been installed in eNgwemnyama, a village in the Eastern Cape near the small town of Qumbu.

The challenges are real: unreliable water, poor roads, and electricity outages that can last for days. Electricity is also expensive for many households, some of which resort to illegal connections.

Then there's "amagoqo", wood biomass. Every household keeps it on hand for cooking and heating because, here, it's simply expected.

But these households have something valuable: cows. Most own more than five and are heavily involved in farming.

That could be a magic combination with our Vutha® systems.

This 6m³ Vutha® should provide enough biogas for up to seven hours of cooking a day, while producing up to 80 L of bioslurry daily for use as organic fertiliser.

Community engagements are always interesting. During one conversation, a phrase was coined:

“Igas engapheliyo”, loosely translated, gas that never runs out.

Let's wait and see. 👀

Ugogo is ready to cook with biogas. 🔥

**How much organic waste have you got? 🌱 that's the question we ask. **

Our 12m³ Vutha® biodigester can process around 50–100 L of organic waste daily.

And what can you get in return?

🌱 Up to 170 L of nutrient-rich bioslurry that can be used as an organic fertilizer
🔥 Up to 14 hours of cooking gas per day
💰 Potential ROI in less than a year

But wait, a multiseries setup is also possible with multi linked systems, multiplying your value

Got a farm? School? Business? Community kitchen?

What could those savings look like for you?

Let's do the numbers. Reach out and let's chat.

The conversations continue.

Archaea Eco had the privilege of sharing our journey with young climate leaders from across Sub-Saharan Africa, currently completing their postgraduate studies through The University of Edinburgh's Climate Enterprise School. Hosted by Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct, together with the University of the Witwatersrand, we met at the Madam Waste demonstration site.

Although we come from different countries, many of our challenges are the same.

As Africans, we've always been interconnected through stories. That's why there was an immediate recognition of what the solutions we offer could potentially do for their communities.

What resonated with us most was their shared ambition: to learn, return home, and create meaningful impact in their own countries. It's an admirable journey, and one that resonates deeply with us.

African solutions for African problems, by Africans.

Real impact starts at community level. 🌱

At the Itsoseng Community Project, we're equipping young people with practical green skills in the circular economy, renewable energy, and sustainable entrepreneurship.

The trained youth collect organic waste from the crèche and surrounding community to feed the Vutha® biodigester, which they also operate and maintain.

The biogas produced supplements the crèche's LPG use, providing clean energy for cooking meals and heating water for more than 30 children every day. The organic fertilizer is used to grow crops on the community garden. What was once waste is now creating value for the community while giving young people hands-on experience with sustainable technologies.

This is what the circular economy looks like in practice, developing skills, reducing waste, and creating cleaner, more resilient communities.

"I never thought I'd be able to grow my own vegetables while living in an apartment."

That's something we hear often.

Many people want to grow fresh, healthy food but think they need a large backyard. The reality is, your small space is enough, all you need is the right system.

In this video, one of our iGardi® users shares her experience of growing fresh vegetables from her apartment balcony, harvesting produce just a few steps from her kitchen.

Whether it's a balcony, patio, rooftop, or small backyard, iGardi® is designed to make urban farming simple, accessible, and rewarding.

There's something incredibly satisfying about harvesting vegetables you grew yourself, knowing exactly what went into them.

With iGardi®, fresh food is no longer limited by where you live. Sometimes, all it takes is reimagining the space you already have. 🌱

The iGardi® system is more than just a growing system, it’s a step toward sustainable, accessible food production in urban spaces.

Designed to work alongside our Vutha® biodigester technology, iGardi® helps turn waste into growth by using nutrient-rich biodigestate to support healthy vegetable production.

And of course, the system can also operate using conventional hydroponic nutrient solutions, giving growers flexibility depending on their needs and setup.

From food waste…
To nutrients…
To fresh produce on your balcony, backyard, or rooftop. ♻️🥬

This is what circular living can look like in our homes and communities.

Cleaner cities.
Greener spaces.
Healthier food systems.

And honestly… there’s something special about harvesting food you grew yourself. 🌿
