Every rand of donor funding has to stretch.

When Futurecon builds a school for an NGO-funded project, Light Steel Frame is the method that stretches it furthest — a finished classroom block in a matter of weeks, not terms, and a programme that doesn't burn budget on the construction overhead that masonry quietly demands.

This school was framed, clad and handed over to the community without losing a school year. The engineered cold-formed steel structure arrived on site as a flat-pack, was raised and closed in by the Futurecon team, and the building was occupied while a masonry equivalent would still have been at first-fix.

We are thrilled to share that the New Orleans Primary School rebuild, delivered by Futurecon, took home two prestigious awards at the 2025 South African Steel Awards last Thursday:

Best Light Steel Frame Project in South Africa 2025

We apologise to our followers. Two years since we posted about our projects, not because we have disappeared, rather, we have been so busy over the last two years we have neglected our social media presence. In the last two years we have crazy busy building schools / game lodges / houses / warehouses etc. We have done over 8000 sq/m of walls in the last two years in the western cape alone. We will start posting a bit more often and keeping you up to date on all the projects we have completed in the last two years, as well as some exciting projects that we are currently busy with.
