Our treatment process is based on return activated sludge technology incorporating submersed aeration media. The enhanced bacterial action ensures a highly effective treatment process with a very small footprint, low capital requirement and minimal maintenance. The modular design of our treatment plants makes us a leader in providing solutions for an African continent – quick, efficient and African tested. SewTreat consists of a core team of engineers (process and civil), microbiologists supported by a team of project planners and distributors. SewTreat’s 2 ML/day wastewater treatment plant in Marble Hall was developed to strengthen municipal wastewater infrastructure and support the treatment needs of the wider town and surrounding community.

The project involved retrofitting the existing pond system and incorporating IFAS biological treatment technology to create a practical, cost-effective solution. By reusing existing infrastructure, the upgraded plant provides increased treatment capacity while producing final effluent designed to comply with the Department of Water and Sanitation’s General Discharge Limits.

This project demonstrates the importance of reliable municipal infrastructure in supporting growing communities, protecting the environment and improving long-term service delivery.

WE’RE HIRING | SITE FOREMAN 👷‍♂️

SewTreat is looking for an experienced, hands-on Site Foreman to join our team, based in Witbank, Mpumalanga.

The successful candidate will lead site teams and oversee the installation, maintenance and commissioning support of water and wastewater treatment plants and associated infrastructure. The role involves travel to project sites across South Africa.

We’re looking for someone with at least 5 years’ relevant site experience, including team supervision, with strong practical experience in piping, mechanical and electrical work. A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel and stay at remote sites are essential.

Experience on mine sites, in HSEQ/quality management, water or wastewater treatment, and relevant trade or technical qualifications will be advantageous.
