The easiest thing you'll do for your cooler all summer.

Evaporative cooling pushes fresh air in, so the stale air needs a way out. A door or window open on the far side of the room is all it takes.

A fan and a water pump. That's the entire running cost.

The window stays shut. The air doesn't stay still.

Fresh air in, stale air out, continuously, so the room stays comfortable without anyone having to adjust anything.

That 3pm fog has a cause. Harvard found office workers' response times slowed measurably as CO₂ built up around them, and CO₂ builds up when air sits still.

Fresh air in, stale air out, continuously. That's the whole mechanism.

It gets in regardless. What happens next is the bit you control.

Spring doesn't stop at the front door.

Recirculated air keeps dust and pollen moving around the room. Evaporative cooling pulls fresh air in through water-soaked pads that help trap it, and pushes the stale air out.

Some days the kindest thing you can do is ask someone how they're actually doing.

You can't stop pollen getting in. You can stop hanging around.
