Today in Kalusale, environmental remediation works continued as Targus Zambia distributed agricultural lime to local farmers as part of the ongoing soil restoration programme.

While tractor-assisted liming is already underway across affected fields, additional lime is being provided directly to households to help treat smaller areas around homes and nearby surroundings.

This exercise is part of the wider recovery effort being carried out in collaboration with community members and relevant authorities, with the shared goal of restoring affected areas safely and responsibly.

Ministry of Agriculture officers from Kalulushi District were present to explain the importance of agriculture lime application to field and demonstrate to the farmers how to apply.

At Sino Metals, we understand that environmental restoration goes beyond machinery and technical processes. It is also about working hand in hand with communities, listening to their concerns, and supporting recovery on the ground.

We remain committed to supporting the remediation process and ensuring that affected communities remain at the centre of these ongoing efforts.

We are pleased to report that remediation and restoration works are currently underway.

These works are being carried out in line with recommendations contained in the publicly released Environmental Impact Report, which was authorized by the relevant government authorities.

We remain committed to transparency and will continue providing updates as progress is made.
At this stage, the works are primarily focused on soil remediation.

Behind every milestone at Sino Metals are the people who make it possible.

Last week on Labour Day, we put a spotlight on some of our employees whose journeys reflect growth, resilience, and pride in their work. From their first day on the job to being recognised at last week's labour day celebrations, their stories highlight what it truly means to be part of a supportive and united workforce.

Their experiences speak to this year’s Labour Day theme: “Securing Zambia's Future of Work: Protecting Jobs, Skills and Pensions for Decent Work for All.” By fostering a strong workplace community, providing stable employment, and investing in skills development, we continue to build an environment where our people can grow, feel valued, and succeed.

We celebrate their achievements and remain committed to empowering every employee, because their success is the foundation of ours.

Photo moments from yesterday's Labour Day celebration in our Kalulushi District.

As we marched in unity and celebrated our employees who received well-deserved awards, we reflected on this year’s theme: “Securing Zambia's Future of Work: Protecting Jobs, Skills and Pensions for Decent Work for All.”

These moments speak to the importance we place on each of our employees and recognising that they are the key to Sino Metals moving forward. By providing stable local employment and investing in continuous skills training, we are contributing to sustainable development while empowering individuals and supporting the growth of local businesses.

We are proud of every team member who continues to drive excellence and contribute to a future of decent work for all.

At Sino Metals, we remain committed to advancing a future where every worker is protected and empowered, as they are the very foundation of our company.

Earlier today we celebrated Labour Day. We proudly stood alongside fellow employers and workers in Kalulushi District to commemorate the theme: “Securing Zambia's Future of Work: Protecting Jobs, Skills and Pensions for Decent Work for All.”

From the vibrant march past to celebrating our own employees who were honoured for their dedication and excellence, the day was a powerful reminder that our people remain the foundation of our progress.

At Sino Metals, we remain committed to building a workplace that values skills, safeguards livelihoods, and creates opportunities for a better, more secure future for all.

The official launch of the Clean-Up and Environmental Restoration Exercise brought together Government, local leadership, technical experts, and the community to mark the start of a structured, science-based remediation programme.

Highlights included live demonstrations of the phased clean-up by Targus Limited, strong calls for accountability from Government, and active participation from various interest groups.

Sino Metals acknowledges that the exercise is a deliberate, evidence-based response which has been developed under Government’s watchful eye and with the best interests of the affected communities at heart.
