This broiler house is now equipped with a Fancom system designed with a dual ventilation strategy that combines natural and tunnel ventilation – giving the flexibility to keep birds comfortable year-round, from mild conditions to the peak of the hot season.

Natural ventilation ensures optimal air exchange during moderate conditions, reducing energy use while maintaining fresh airflow through the open side poultry house.

Tunnel ventilation engages during hotter periods, pulling high volumes of air through cooling pads using exhaust fans to create a wind-chill effect, rapidly lowering the house temperature while creating great ventilation conditions.

This combination provides precise climate control, minimises heat stress, and increases broiler performance across seasonal changes. Ammonia and humidity levels are also manipulated to increase performance.

Every poultry farmer hates to see summer coming☀️

High temperatures mean high mortalities and poor flock health. Don’t let soaring temperatures set you back. With Fancom cooling pads and systems, you can keep your birds comfortable, productive, and thriving - no matter the temperature.

The pad cooling system utilises the cooling effect produced by water evaporating in warm outside air. The incoming air is drawn through a plastic pad, which is kept wet, installed in front of the air inlet. A pipe above the pad distributes the water evenly across the pad. As the water passes through the cooling pad, it will partially evaporate. During this evaporation process, heat is extracted from the air, lowering its temperature. At the base of the pad, the water is collected in a chute and circulated for reuse.
