We highly recommend you replace your Star Delta or Direct Online electric motor starters, with Variable Speed Drives. With new installations we feel this is definitely the way to go.

Our experiences with the ABB VSDs tick the following boxes:

* Soft start feature from zero amps to never more than 1 x FLC (Full Load Current), unless requited. Star Delta's require up to 3.2 x FLC and DOLs require up to 5 x FLC on start up.

* Only half (if not one third) sized generator needed to start up and run a motor with VSD, as opposed to ASD or DOL.

* Power Factor Correction feature included (saving you money in your electricity bill).

* Uninterrupted Power Supply feature included (short term to prevent switch off during brief power dips)

* Only necessary KW Hours consumed (saving you money in your electricity bill).

* Voltage Stabilization feature included (within surprising reason).
