Suneth Wijesinghe is inspired by his father M.P.Wijesinghe, the founder of Metalix and creator of the SISIL refrigerator, which revolutionized the
local industry in the 60’s.
Utilizing over a decade of experience at Metalix Engineering Company Limited, Malco is leading in the industry to grow in par with the international
contracting companies by teaming up with reputed conglomerates in the Aviation & Energy sectors, to bring international expertise to Sri Lanka,
thereby increasing Malco’s competitive advantage with value addition and employment to Sri Lankans.
Malco Engineering Pvt Limited was started from the ground up to cater to a growing niche market of local and international clients who were
searching for high quality electrical and power generation products with high technological input at a competitive price.
Malco Engineering partners with giants such as Jinan Diesel, Toshiba Japan , Legrand of France and Thorn Lighting UK, to name a few, in order
to live up to its promise of delivering power everywhere. Over the past decade, hundreds of employees have benefited under Suneth’s tutelage,
and it is with pride he notes that many of them have now gone on to establish themselves in the industry in their own right.
Growing in leaps and bounds since its humble beginnings, Malco Engineering into the Oil and Gas industry in Sri Lanka, which is now
at a stage of rapid development. Suneth was instrumental in bringing the Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), which is under
the Malaysian Prime Minister’s mandate, and Petroleum Resources Development Secretariat (PRDS) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to
develop and share business models in the petroleum industry.
Looking at the future the Company has identified renewable energy on the Company’s road map in the next decade to foster and protect the
environment by supporting the Green label concept.
