Today, I celebrate the completion of my third attachment program with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development (MIHUD) – Ndola.

As a Civil Engineering student at Mulungushi University, one of the biggest questions throughout my four-year journey has always been: Which path within Civil Engineering will I choose to master? The field is broad, demanding, and full of opportunity — and that choice has never been a small one.

Completing my attachment three consecutive times at MIHUD has been a defining experience. It has allowed me to witness structures move from drawings on paper to real, physical forms that serve communities. There is something deeply fulfilling about seeing a structure come to life — knowing you were part of the process that made it possible.

Through these experiences, I have discovered a growing passion for Structural Engineering. The responsibility, the precision, the creativity, and the impact it has on people’s safety and everyday lives inspire me deeply.

But this is only the beginning.

A new Structural Engineer is emerging — one committed to continuous learning, driven by curiosity, grounded in sustainability, and dedicated to safety. We design, we calculate, we analyze — but above all, we care. Because in many ways, we are doctors of structures — diagnosing weaknesses, strengthening resilience, and ensuring long-term stability for the communities we serve.

The journey continues.

Humans have used creativity and art to shape the world we see today . By applying laws of physics and embracing sustainability, we're moving toward a future that's more developed and environmentally conscious. Sustainability is driving innovations in tech, design, and energy.

Nature and Finance........ Biodiversity has become a victim in the world that has it's focus on the economy more than the basics that drive the economy. Say no to Luxury over Nature, Let's find a balance and build systems that will serve both Nature and the economy for good. .

🚧 Road barriers: the unsung heroes!

From Jersey barriers keeping highway crashes in check, to steel guardrails hugging cliffs, bollards protecting city walkers, and fences shielding construction crews—each has a mission. Bright colors and reflective signs make sure you notice them in time. Next time you pass a barrier, remember: it’s not just concrete and steel—it’s safety working overtime!

When a house starts sinking, it’s usually not witchcraft. ❌
The real culprits are:
• Poor soil
• Shallow foundations
• Overloading

Engineering is about understanding loads and soil, not shortcuts. Build safe, smart, and durable houses! 🏠💡

house sinking causes, poor soil foundation, shallow foundations, overloading houses, structural failure, building safety Zambia

Strip vs Pad Foundation.

Strip vs Pad Foundations Most Zambian houses use strip foundations, not because they’re cheap — but because they work for typical loads. Engineering is about suitability, not shortcuts.
