Today, I celebrate the completion of my third attachment program with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development (MIHUD) – Ndola.
As a Civil Engineering student at Mulungushi University, one of the biggest questions throughout my four-year journey has always been: Which path within Civil Engineering will I choose to master? The field is broad, demanding, and full of opportunity — and that choice has never been a small one.
Completing my attachment three consecutive times at MIHUD has been a defining experience. It has allowed me to witness structures move from drawings on paper to real, physical forms that serve communities. There is something deeply fulfilling about seeing a structure come to life — knowing you were part of the process that made it possible.
Through these experiences, I have discovered a growing passion for Structural Engineering. The responsibility, the precision, the creativity, and the impact it has on people’s safety and everyday lives inspire me deeply.
But this is only the beginning.
A new Structural Engineer is emerging — one committed to continuous learning, driven by curiosity, grounded in sustainability, and dedicated to safety. We design, we calculate, we analyze — but above all, we care. Because in many ways, we are doctors of structures — diagnosing weaknesses, strengthening resilience, and ensuring long-term stability for the communities we serve.
The journey continues.
