Bindura University of Science Education ( ) Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eddie Mwenje, had the privilege of hosting the African Union Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (ESTI), Prof. Gaspard Banyankimbona, and his delegation, who were on a benchmarking exercise of the heritage‑based Education 5.0 philosophy.
The unprecedented success of this transformative framework has captured global attention, with Prof. Banyankimbona affirming its potential to be adapted across Africa.
During the visit, the Vice Chancellor led a tour showcasing innovative products and services developed by BUSE staff and students. Flagship projects such as Chiringa—already adopted by Government—demonstrate the tangible impact of Education 5.0 in driving national development.
Prof. Banyankimbona commended Prof. Mwenje and the University community for their remarkable achievements, emphasising that the next step is to elevate Education 5.0 into continental policy discourse at the African Union.
BUSE’s interpretation and implementation of the heritage‑based Education 5.0 policy has been widely hailed, earning Prof. Mwenje recognition as the Best Performing Vice Chancellor in 2025 at the Performance Evaluation Awards and Performance Contracts Signing Ceremony hosted by His Excellency, the President, Cde Dr E.D. Mnangagwa, earlier this year.

Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) is hosting a three-day Integrity Committee Training Workshop this week, facilitated by officials from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission. The workshop is designed to strengthen institutional integrity systems, promote transparency, and enhance accountability across public institutions.
Participants will gain critical insights into corruption prevention strategies and the effective functioning of the University's Integrity Committee.
