COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS BY CLIENTS
WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF BOREHOLE CASINGS AND CLASSES?????
Borehole Casings are used to provide a permanent boundary between the borehole and surrounding soils. They separate borehole water from soil particles and foreign impurities, preventing heavy siltation or borehole collapse. In Zimbabwe, Borehole casings are classified by their thickness, ranging from class 6,9&10, respectively.
WHAT IS DOUBLE CASINGS???
Double casing is a special case scenario where the upper part of the borehole is very loose, prone to collapse, and / or heavy siltation during drilling. 180 mm casing is used to provide a more coherent wall between the borehole and loose soils or pebbles. It is charged separately from the initial drilling and casing of 40m since it is a special case requirement depending on soil type formations.
