To fix an office chair:

1. Wobbly Base – Tighten screws and bolts.

5. Tilt Mechanism Issue – Check tension k**b and adjust.

Here’s a detailed guide to fixing common office chair problems:

1. Wobbly Base
Check all screws and bolts connecting the seat to the base.
Tighten them using a wrench or screwdriver.
If any screws are stripped or missing, replace them.
Ensure the chair legs or casters are evenly positioned.

2. Sinking Seat (Gas Lift Failure)
The gas lift cylinder may be worn out.
Try this temporary fix: wrap a hose clamp around the cylinder at the desired height.
For a permanent solution, replace the gas cylinder:
Remove the chair base by turning it upside down and tapping the cylinder with a rubber mallet.
Install a new gas lift and reattach the base.

3. Stuck or Noisy Wheels
Flip the chair over and inspect the casters.
Remove hair, dust, or debris using tweezers or compressed air.
Apply lubricant (like WD-40) to keep them rolling smoothly.
If damaged, replace with new casters by pulling out the old ones and pushing in the new ones.

4. Loose or Broken Armrests
Tighten loose screws underneath the armrest.
If screws are stripped, use larger ones or insert toothpicks with wood glue in the hole before re-screwing.
Replace broken armrests if necessary.

5. Tilt Mechanism Not Working
Check if the tension k**b (under the seat) is too tight or loose and adjust it.
If the recline function doesn’t work, inspect the tilt mechanism for broken parts and replace them.
Ensure the tilt lock lever isn’t stuck—wiggle it gently to release.
