According to TikTok, employees in China have access to user data from the UK and the EU.

Users of the Chinese video-sharing site TikTok have been informed that some of its employees there have access to information on accounts in the UK and the EU.

The "privacy policy" was "based on a demonstrated requirement to do their work," according to the social media behemoth.

Authorities from all around the world, including those in the UK and the US, have been looking into it because of worries that data could be sent to the Chinese government.

A US official demanded that the software be prohibited in the US earlier this week.

Takeover of Musk's Twitter account: Billionaire disputes rumors' that he will terminate employees to avoid paying money.

In order to avoid having to make payments, according to a New York Times report, Elon Musk intends to fire Twitter employees before the beginning of the following month.

In response to a tweeter's inquiry over the report, he stated: "This is incorrect."

After months of legal wrangling, Mr. Musk finally completed his $44 billion (£37.9 billion) acquisition of the social networking company last week.

Top executives of the company, including the chairman, chief financial officer, and chief executive, all left after the takeover.

The New York Times reported over the weekend that Mr. Musk had mandated significant job cuts across Twitter's personnel.

The flying vehicle with a biplane conversion capability

A start-up unveiled the details of its flying car's launch at Draper University in San Mateo, California.

Alef describes its still-in-development electric vehicle, the Model A, as the world's first real flying automobile. The company envisions the Model A to have the sleek appearance of an electric car plus the ability to take off and soar vertically for 110 kilometers (68 miles).

The company aspires to compete in a market dominated by technologically superior rivals like AirCar and the Pal-V gyrocopter, which are already capable of flight and propulsion.

The chief executive and co-founder of Alef, Jim Dukhovny, disagrees, claiming that most current automobiles are not strictly flying cars.

TikTok rejects claims that it might be used to track US people.

A rumour that a China-based team at TikTok's parent company ByteDance intended to utilise the app to track the whereabouts of US individuals has been refuted.

The social media behemoth said on Twitter that neither the American government nor any activists, celebrities, or journalists have ever been "targeted."

The company further claims that it doesn't gather precise location information from US consumers.

The statement was made in response to a Forbes article that claimed data would have been accessed without the users' knowledge or consent.

According to the US business journal, who used papers it had access to, ByteDance had launched a surveillance effort to look into employee wrongdoing by both present and former workers.

Zoetop, the owner of Shein, was fined $1.9 million for their response to the data breach.

Due to how it handled a data breach, the owner of the fast-fashion website Shein was fined $1.9 million (£1.69 million).

In 2018, 39 million Shein accounts' login information was stolen after its parent business, Zoetop, was attacked by hackers.

Letitia James, the attorney general for New York, alleged that Zoetop had exaggerated the scope of the breach and had informed "just a portion" of the consumers who were impacted.

Shein claims that it has improved its cyber-security by taking "major efforts."

Tens of millions of Shein account holders had their names, email addresses, passwords, and credit card information stolen by hackers and sold online.

According to the International Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Forum, 5.3 billion mobile phones will be discarded this year.

Its projection, which is based on data on worldwide trade, emphasises the expanding environmental issue of "e-waste."

According to study, a lot of consumers keep their old phones rather than recycle them.

The cobalt in rechargeable batteries and the copper in wiring are precious minerals that cannot be obtained from used devices and must instead be mined.

Scientists claim that mine e-waste, not the Earth.

Countless outdated devices are "stockpiled in drawers."

Xbox vs. PlayStation: Call of Duty battle pits giants

Microsoft, the owner of Xbox, has rebuffed accusations that its proposal to acquire the company behind Call of Duty may unjustly hurt its competitors, notably Sony, the owner of PlayStation.

Microsoft wants to pay $68.7 billion (£59.2 billion) to acquire Activision Blizzard, which also produces Candy Crush and Overwatch.

According to the UK watchdog investigating the proposal, Microsoft might utilise Activision games to "out-compete" its competitors.

Microsoft stated that it was still hoping for a June 2023 closing date.

It has already received approval from Saudi Arabian and Brazilian competition authorities.

However, the Competition and Markets Authority declared last month that it would request an impartial panel to review the plan.

New Quest Pro VR headset unveiled by Mark Zuckerberg

At an online developer event, Mark Zuckerberg presented the Quest Pro, a new VR headset.

Quest Pro costs $1,499 (£1,499), nearly four times as much as Meta's current headset, the Quest 2, which has a starting price of $399.

It claims slimmer lenses, a curved battery around the back of the head strap, and self-tracking controllers.

The headset also enables users to see their actual surroundings outside the screen's edge.

Unlike its predecessor, Quest Pro supports mixed reality, allowing users to view digital information overlaid on the actual world.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, called mixed reality "the next important step for VR."

The high launch price, according to Tong Nguyen of Gartner, turned it into a device.

After US restrictions on China, shares of Asian chipmakers decline.

After the US unveiled strong new regulations to restrict sales of technology to China, shares in key Asian computer chipmakers fell.

According to the US, American companies will not be allowed to sell certain chips used in supercomputers and artificial intelligence to Chinese companies.

The regulations, which were made public on Friday, also target purchases made by foreign businesses using American-made machinery.

As the world economy weakens, technology companies are also witnessing a decline in demand.
