Mechanical debridement is an important component of wound bed preparation, including in the management of venous leg ulcers.

It supports the removal of devitalised tissue, debris, residual foreign matter, microorganisms and biofilm from the wound bed.

In the Debrisoft® Duo clinical evaluation, clinicians principally selected mechanical debridement to:
✅ Loosen non-viable tissue
✅ Remove slough
✅ Address the suspected presence of biofilm

Debrisof®t Duo offers two complementary surfaces within one pad. The textured side is designed to loosen strongly adherent fibrinous debris, while the soft monofilament side helps remove and absorb loosened debris and exudate.

For patients with VLUs, mechanical debridement should be considered as part of a comprehensive management approach that includes appropriate compression therapy.

Mechanical debridement is a key component of wound bed preparation.

✅ It supports the removal of devitalised tissue, debris, residual foreign matter, microorganisms and biofilm from the wound bed. By addressing these potential barriers, debridement helps prepare the wound environment for the next steps in wound management.

✅ Debrisoft® Duo is a double-sided pad designed for mechanical debridement.

✅Its textured beige side is intended to help loosen strongly adherent fibrinous wound debris. The original soft monofilament fibre side then helps remove and absorb debris and exudate from the wound and surrounding skin.

In September 2026, Mariella and Noah started their apprenticeships as medical device sales representatives at L&R Austria in Vienna. Together with the other apprentices in Vienna and Schönau (👉 see the picture), they represent a generation that brings motivation, curiosity, and a genuine interest in our profession and our customer base.
