Bayat Power is currently the country’s largest private electricity producer and operates Bayat Power-1, Afghanistan’s first modern gas-to-electricity plant.

Addressing the Green Growth Forum in Kabul, which was organized by a number of partners including UNAMA and UNDP, Bayat Power officials on Thursday highlighted the company’s use of domestic natural gas to generate reliable, round-the-clock power, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening Afghanistan’s energy infrastructure and economic resilience.
