About the Position
NSCLC is seeking qualified and experienced WASH Facilities Site Engineers for the implementation of UNICEF-funded WASH facility rehabilitation and construction projects at health clinics in Badakhshan Province. The selected candidates will be responsible for site supervision, quality control, reporting, and coordination of all construction activities in accordance with approved technical standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor the implementation of WASH facility construction and rehabilitation activities at health clinic sites in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and UNICEF standards.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control, proper workmanship, and compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and construction schedules.
Oversee daily construction activities including water supply systems, sanitation facilities, drainage systems, septic tanks, handwashing stations, and other WASH-related infrastructure.
Coordinate closely with project managers, contractors, skilled laborers, health facility staff, and local authorities to ensure smooth project implementation.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports including work progress, challenges, material usage, and recommendations.
Verify construction materials and ensure that all materials used on-site meet approved technical standards and specifications.
Support site surveying, measurements, quantity verification, and preparation of work progress documentation for payment purposes.
Ensure implementation of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) measures at project sites.
Monitor project timelines and assist in ensuring activities are completed within the approved schedule and work plan.
Participate in technical meetings, inspections, and coordination meetings with UNICEF representatives and other stakeholders when required.
Identify technical issues on-site and provide practical engineering solutions in coordination with the project management team.
Ensure proper curing, finishing, and quality assurance for concrete, plastering, painting, and other finishing works before project handover.
Maintain proper site documentation including attendance records, site diaries, material records, and photographic evidence of project progress.
Perform any other engineering and site supervision tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, WASH Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience Requirements
4–6 years of proven experience in WASH and construction projects.
Previous experience with UNICEF, NGOs, or donor-funded projects is preferred.
